Jumeirah Group,Jumeirah Group plans to open new Abu Dhabi resort

Dubai's Jumeirah Group plans to open the Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort in Abu Dhabi, UAE on Nov. 11, 2018.

The beachfront resort on Saadiyat Island is near downtown Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi International Airport. The 293-room property will also be near the upcoming Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, the Zayed National Museum and the Louvre Abu Dhabi, which opened last year. The site will have eight villas with private pools and 64 suites.

The hotel group is also partnering with Trust Your Water to maintain a plastic-free, sustainably-built resort. “The resort’s design was heavily influenced by the need to minimize impact to the island’s habitats including the Saadiyat Beach dune ecosystem, its native flora and fauna and the nesting of the endangered Hawksbill turtles," said Linda Griffin, GM of Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort, in a statement. "So, it is natural that we also minimize the impact of guests by eliminating single-use plastic bottles and plastic straws. Proposed measures include complimentary, reusable plastic bottles for all guests who will be encouraged to refill at water stations, serving local filtered water in glass bottles throughout the resort and eliminating plastic straws.”

The Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island will be the company's third property in the capital city, following the Jumeirah at Etihad Towers hotel and residences. The new hotel will also be Jumeirah's latest addition to its 16-property portfolio in the Middle East.

Jumeirah is on track to open another eight properties across the Middle East in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the UAE, Aqaba in Jordan, Muscat Bay in Oman, Istanbul in Turkey and Makkah in Saudi Arabia. These include the upcoming Jumeirah Al Wathba Desert Resort in Abu Dhabi, which will have 90 guestrooms and 13 villas in the capital’s Al Wathba district.
