Project Antares Awaits Hand-Over to U.S. Owner

An American who enjoys the superyacht experience will continue doing so come the holidays at the end of next year. He takes delivery of Project Antares from Heesen Yachts in November 2018. She is the latest build in the shipyard’s fast-displacement motoryacht series to gain a buyer.

To be specific, the yacht is a 55M Fast Displacement project, therefore coming in at 180 feet LOA. Naval architecture for her, as well as each of Heesen’s fast-displacement yachts, comes from Van Oossanen Naval Architects. The studio and the shipyard anticipate Project Antares seeing a range of 4,500 nautical miles at 13 knots. They also anticipate her making a maximum 16-knot speed, while burning less fuel than traditionally hulled yachts.

The owner and his guests will have abundant areas to spread out and enjoy the cruising life. Project Antares, at a voluminous 740 gross tons, offers a 592-square-foot (55-square-meter) beach club, for instance. The owner’s suite is even larger, coming in at 861 square feet (80 square meters). As you might expect, the suite sits forward on the main deck. Family and friends get to select from two twins, two doubles, and two VIPs, all below decks. The two VIPs are each full beam, too. (The yacht’s beam is 31’5”, or 9.6 meters.)

From the lower deck to the upper deck, Project Antares is being tailored by Francesco Pazskowski’s interior-design team. Pazskowski, with longtime collaborator Margherita Casprini, selected contrasting light and dark tones. From the marbles to the teak and fabrics, all play a role. Some areas will feature reflective surfaces as well, to further create light and openness. Finally, geometric patterns will repeat throughout Project Antares for thematic unity.

Although Heesen has not mentioned what toys will be aboard, it has revealed that the owner thoroughly enjoys fishing.
