The announcement follows Hyatt Hotel's plan to expand its Hyatt Centric brand across Europe. Both properties are the first of the brand in their respective countries.

Hyatt Centric Gran Via Madrid was converted from a building constructed in the 1920s. The 159-room hotel is near Retiro Park, Prado Museum, Royal Palace and boutiques. Meanwhile, the Hyatt Centric La Rosière in the French Alps has 69 rooms. It is in the center of the Franco-Italian La Rosière ski destination in the Tarentaise Valley near Courchevel, Val d’Isère and Les Arcs.
