The 37 metre motorsailer Beaugeste has been sold with Peter Hurzeler and Jeremy Comport at Ocean Independence representing both buyer and seller.
Built in aluminium by British yard Brooke Marine to a design by Jon Bannenberg, she was delivered in 1989 as the last build from the yard and became Bannenberg’s personal yacht until she was sold in 1993 to her current owner.
Previously named Beaupre after Bannenberg’s wife, she has always been used privately and a full refit in 2015 saw her MCA classed with a new paint job and she recently passed her Lloyd's 25-year class inspection. Accommodation is for up to eight guests in four cabins consisting of a master suite, two doubles and a twin, all with entertainment centres, Samsung flatscreen televisions and en-suite shower facilities. In addition, there are quarters for six crew.
A large saloon has U-shaped seating on off-white settees, an entertainment centre and a dining area for six guests while the broad aft deck offers al fresco entertaining and dining on built-in upholstered seating and a varnished oval table.
On the technical side, she has a sail wardrobe comprising Doyle sails, rigging by Rondal and winches by Lewmar — all checked and replaced if necessary during her 2015 refit. Twin 400hp MAN engines give her a range of 4,000 nautical miles at her cruising speed of 11 knots.
Beaugeste was asking €2,950,000.
