The 47.2 metre sailing yacht Hyperion has been listed for sale by Alex Busher at Edmiston & Company.
Designed by German Frers, Hyperion was built in aluminium by Dutch yard Royal Huisman to Lloyd's class and delivered in 1998 as a cutter rigged auxillary sloop with a full refit in 2015. A timeless interior by Pieter Bieldsnijder accommodates six guests in three cabins comprising a full-beam master suite, double and a twin, all with entertainment centres, LED television screens and en-suite shower facilities. A further three cabins sleep up to eight crew aboard this yacht for sale.
The main saloon has two levels, with the lower level incorporating seating areas, a dining nook and a piano, while the upper level features the formal dining area, sofas and an entertainment centre including a 42-inch LED television screen and a Kaleidescape server offering on-demand video and audio, drawing on a database of 3,000 films.
Originally commissioned by the Silicon Valley entrepreneur Jim Clark, founder of the Netscape web browser, she boasts all the latest electronic bells and whistles.
Hyperion has a Rondal carbon fibre main mast and boom with Rollway slab reef furlers and comes complete with a sail wardrobe by North Sails. Under power, a single 800hp MTU diesel engine and 21,000 litre fuel tanks translate into a highly respectable range of 2,600 nautical miles at ten knots.
Lying in Newport, Rhode Island, Hyperion is asking €12,950,000.
