The 33.5 metre sailing yacht Keewaydin, listed for sale by Simon J Turner at Northrop & Johnson, has had a $225,000 price reduction.

Designed by John G Alden, she was built in aluminium by US superyacht yard Palmer Johnson to ABS class with delivery in 1995. Her annual maintenance and refits have kept the yacht fully current with regard to the most modern systems and she has been managed with great attention to detail.

This yacht for sale underwent a comprehensive refit in 2010, which updated virtually every system aboard, including cosmetics, with new Awlgrip on all surfaces, all new teak decks and an exhaustive list of upgrades that cost in excess of $2million. In 2015, she had a further substantial refurbishment, which included new upholstery throughout, the redesign and rebuild of the aft cabin to provide a double berth, a refit of the galley and remodelling of the crew quarters.

With Hood roller furling masts, Reckmann headstay furlers, a shallow draught centreboard design, a reliable Caterpillar main engine and a sail plan capable of powering her in all but the lightest winds, Keewaydin is truly a world cruiser. A large cockpit aft of the pilothouse comes with a U-shaped settee and two coffee tables for relaxed al fresco dining.

Her interior, with full-width owner’s suite plus two guest staterooms, all with en-suite facilities, was designed by John Munford in classic, raised panel varnished mahogany, accented with marble and rolled leather.

Under power, a 470hp Caterpillar engine gives her a cruising speed of ten knots.

  Keewaydin is now asking $2,100,000.
