The 25 metre motor yacht Independence, listed for sale by Myton Ireland at Ireland Yacht Sales, has been sold with the buyer introduced by Don Strong at Denison Yacht Sales.

Built in aluminium by US yard Burger to a design by Don O’Keeffe, Independence was delivered in 1996 as the first hull to incorporate Burger’s bottom/tunnel design with the latest technology in noise and vibration control. Accommodation is for six guests in three cabins comprising a master suite and two doubles, all with entertainment centres and en suite bathroom facilities. In addition, a further en suite cabin sleeps two crewmembers.

The main saloon has anigre wood panelling and neutral carpeting, and at the forward end has herringbone flooring in front of the walk up bar and entertainment centre. Forward is a dining area while a door to the starboard side aft leads out to the aft deck which is partially protected by the flybridge deck.

The spacious aft deck has built-in upholstered seating facing aft, a table and folding chairs to create the perfect ambience for al fresco entertaining and dining.

Twin 1,350hp Caterpillar diesel engines power her to a cruising speed of 19 knots and, linked to 20,000 litre fuel tanks, give her a range of 2,000 nautical miles at 10 knots. For added comfort at sea and in port, she is fitted with Naiad zero speed stabilisers.

  Independence was asking $2,450,000.
