The 49 metre classic sailing yacht Invader has changed central agencies and is now listed for sale by Enrico Mortola at Mortola Yacht & Ship.

Built with a steel hull and teak superstructure by US yard George Lawley, she was designed by Albert S Chesebrough, a nephew of the renowned naval architect Nathanial Herreshoff, and delivered in 1905 with the most recent refit being in 2003. An interior designed by Anna Signorini accommodates six guests in three cabins consisting of a master suite and two twins, all with entertainment centres and en suite shower facilities. Quarters for five crew are in three cabins aboard this yacht for sale.

The saloon has comfortable L-shaped seating, a bar, ice maker and a Sony home theatre system, and offers a separate banquette dining area with seating for six guests.

On the technical side, Invader has a 30.8 metre main mast, a 25.5 metre main boom and a 455 square metre main sail while deck gear includes no fewer than 26 winches. Under power, a 700hp Caterpillar diesel engine gives her a cruising speed of 10 knots. Now, after a period of very little use following the death of her latest owner, this masterpiece has consequently been priced at a very sensible level.

  Invader is asking €4.5 million.
