Malta will resume international travel in June

According to OWID data, as of May 13, 2021, the coverage rate of the new crown vaccine in Malta has reached 90.62%, ranking first among European countries. The domestic epidemic situation in Malta is well under control, and the catering industry, museums and other attractions have resumed normal operations.

Tourists from China (including Hong Kong, S.A.R., China, Macau, S.A.R., China and Taiwan, China) can enter Malta with a negative PCR test result within 72 hours without isolation. At present, Chinese tourists can take international flights to arrive in Malta after connecting in Turkey (Istanbul) or Germany. The Malta Visa Centers in 13 cities in China resumed accepting visa applications at the end of April.

In order to benefit the local tourism industry and encourage tourists from all over the world to choose Malta as their travel destination after the epidemic, the Malta Tourism Authority has released a new travel concept of "Feel Free Again" and will start from the hotel. Reward programs are provided to tourists in four areas: accommodation discounts, diving trips, study tours and MICE.

It is reported that in terms of hotel accommodation discounts, starting from June 1, the Malta Tourism Bureau will invest 3.5 million euros for 17 five-star hotels, 46 four-star hotels and 32 three-star hotels on the island, giving freedom to the world. Tourists will be granted accommodation subsidies. Under the first-come-first-served principle, the subsidy policy will last from June 1 to December 31, 2021.

In addition, the Maltese Tourism Board’s dive award program totaling 750,000 euros will be officially launched on June 1. Tourists from various countries who plan to go diving to Malta apply online and will receive a 100 Euro consumer voucher by mail. The gift voucher will be issued according to the certified diving center selected by the tourist, and can be directly deducted for one-time use.

At the same time, the Malta Tourism Bureau will invest 1 million euros to reward students who go to Malta English language school and study for no less than 15 class hours, as well as to host a meeting in Malta and Gozo in 2021/2022. For foreign teams in such activities, a MICE travel incentive program with a total amount of 4 million euros will be provided.

This summer, "Heart of the Mediterranean", the comfortable and slow life in the blue sea and blue sky of Malta will bring every visitor here a relaxing and rewarding journey of healing.
