The breakthrough launches of the week have put a sense of perspective in place for the start of Spring, the primary example of which being Turquoise’s latest addition to the global fleet ‘GO’. This 77-metre masterpiece follows the hugely-successful launch of Razan and cements a new era for the expert craftsmen of Istanbul.
Intricately drawn by British studio H2, GO is a take on the classic Turquoise launch Vicky and furthers the new direction of Turquoise Yachts with genuine style. This is just one of the projects underway in the Pendik Istanbul yard and we can’t wait to bring you more from the team at Turquoise in the very near future.
GO, while an imposing masterpiece, was just one of the large yachts to make an appearance this week after Royal Huisman gave the world the first look at their largest yacht to date, Project 400. A milestone project in progress, the hull of the 81-metre sailing yacht left the yard and was turned by four cranes in one afternoon.
Built for an Asian client, Project 400 is the result of an individual’s vision of freedom on the water, made real by Royal Huisman, Dykstra Naval Architects and designer Mark Whiteley. From a one-year design phase with Owner’s Representative Bart Kimman and his team to a quick turn-around in hull construction, Royal Huisman is making waves with a new ground-breaking project following the launch of the globally-acclaimed Ngoni.
Sanlorenzo also joined the fore with the launch of the second 52Steel, a 52-metre exercise in style and timeless design with state-of-the-art accommodation facilities. Covered by our very own Claudine Derksen, this is just one of the new launches upcoming for the Italian yacht builder, with a new flagship on its way in the very near future.
Another Italian yacht builder with unparalleled pedigree, Benetti brought a new boat to the water in the form of Elaltrea. This 49-metre was the focus of Christina Tsangaris this week, who also helped reacquaint the yachting world with Genoa through Marina Porto Antico, a slice of escape and Italian revelry you can read here.
With the long weekend looming and the Spring bringing new updates and a chance to get back into the world as we wrap on our major projects, it’s safe to say a new start has arrived.
