15 Superyacht Premieres at the Monaco Yacht Show

　　On average, more than 600 exhibitors across yachting and other luxury sectors attend the Monaco Yacht Show. But, those are just the on-land displays. In the slips at Port Hercule, you’ll typically find 120 superyachts. This September 27 to 30, the show organizers expect similar numbers, along with additional yachts out at anchor. Year after year, of course, the global premieres are the ones of great interest. The superyacht premieres are as important to the builders and designers who create them as they are to the public wishing to see them.

　　The number of debuts averages about 40, according to the Monaco Yacht Show organizers. The majority is overwhelmingly power craft, though some significant sailing yachts appear, too. Listed here in alphabetical order are 15 noteworthy superyacht premieres, both power and sail, set for this year’s show.

　　Areti. This 279-footer comes from Winch Design and Lürssen, commissioned by an experienced owner. Few details are known, other than that nine staterooms accommodate the owner’s party.

　　Aquarius. The 302-footer (92-meter) features an abundance of art inside, a passion of the owner. She also has an abundance of glass in her structure, thanks to Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design and De Voogt Naval Architects.

　　Black Legend. “Black” is the operative word, since this Mangusta has a black paint job. She’s a Mangusta 165.

　　Clorinda. An ISA 120, Clorinda is the first delivery from ISA Yachts since it reopened its doors.

　　Cloud 9. Turning heads recently in Venice, Italy, Cloud 9 features styling and interior design by Winch Design. Built by CRN, she measures 243 feet (74 meters) and is for both private cruising and charter. On a side note, we love the owner’s spirit: He had Star Wars music playing at Cloud 9’s launch.

　　Elsea. Measuring 164 feet (50 meters), Elsea is the first entirely custom megayacht from Italy’s CCN. She’s fast, too, promising a top end of 27 knots. Judging from the beach club, she’s meant for parties. A killer sound system and a bar are highlights.

　　Endeavour II. Another 164-footer (49.9-meter), this is a trideck, long-range cruiser from Rossinavi. Best range should exceed 5,000 nautical miles. Her plumb-bow styling is by Enrico Gobbi – Team For Design.

　　Lot 99. This is hull number one of the Swan 95 high-performance sailing superyacht series from Nautor’s Swan. She’s meant for racing as well as cruising, featuring a semi-raised saloon.

　　New Frontiers. New Frontiers (above) is all about “ripping up the rule book,” as Rose Damen, Damen’s commercial director, explains. New Frontiers is a Damen Yacht Support project, made for adventure travel. LOA: 181 feet (55.3 meters). Look for her at Amels’ display.

　　Pin Gin VI. This sailing superyacht (directly above) is the sixth same-named yacht for the owner of Baltic Yachts. Naturally, Baltic Yachts built her. LOA: 177 feet (53.9 meters).

　　Seasense. Benetti built this 220-footer (67-meter) with Cor D Rover Design, a first-time collaboration. The owner’s party of 12 can enjoy a pool on the aft deck.

　　Seven. The latest Perini Navi 60M series launch, a ketch, hit the water this month. Previous series deliveries have raced, but the builder hasn’t revealed whether just cruising or both cruising and racing are on her agenda.

　　Seven Sins. Seven Sins is significant among the show’s superyacht premieres, being the first in Sanlorenzo’s 52 Steel series. In addition, she is the first Sanlorenzo to come from the builder’s La Spezia, Italy shipyard.

　　Sorceress. This is the first SW96 from Southern Wind Shipyard. Sorceress is a high-performance sailing yacht that will both race and cruise.

　　Vertige. Pictured at top, the 164-foot (49.99-meter) Vertige is from Tankoa Yachts. She’s all about relaxation, with a cinema-like room complete with a bar.

　　Besides superyacht premieres at the Monaco Yacht Show this year, you can see in-demand tenders. For the second year running, the Tenders & Toys Show section brings together custom and production craft. Furthermore, there’s the second-annual Car Deck. Located along Quai Antoine Ier, which is fresh from two years of reconstruction, it’s a collection of rare and high-end cars.

　　Select visitors to the Monaco Yacht Show will receive special Sapphire Experience invitations, too. The Sapphire Experience is for VIP guests, who can attend the opening gala and take advantage of concierge services. For example, private visits take place aboard the superyachts of their choice. In addition, Sapphire Experience guests get entry to other exclusive events during the week.
