STANDOUT SUPERYACHTS ATTENDING THE 2021 CANNES YACHTING FESTIVAL

The standout superyachts attending this year’s highly anticipated Cannes Yachting Festival have been announced. The show, which runs from September 7-12, will feature almost 600 boats from 430 exhibitors. BOAT rounds up the top superyachts attending the event.

Rebeca

The first Benetti Oasis 40 metre superyacht Rebeca is set to debut at Cannes this September. Delivered in 2020, the yacht is built in GRP and has a set of twin MTU diesel engines powering it to a top speed of 18 knots and a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 11 knots. Italian yard Benetti oversaw the naval engineering and RWD carried out the exterior design, while Bonetti / Kozerski penned the interiors. 

K-584

Launched in 2020 and sporting a red stylized "K" towards its bow, the 36.6 metre CPN K-584 is set to debut at Cannes this September. The yacht was built in steel and aluminum to a design penned by A. Vallicelli & C. Yacht Designers while being powered by a pair of MAN D2868 LE 425 engines for a top speed of 14 knots. 

Helga

Delivered to its owners this summer season, 27.3 metre superyacht Helga is the fifth hull in the yard's Raised Pilothouse range and was launched in March 2021. Designed inside and out by Guido de Groot, the yacht's accommodation is for a total of eight guests split across four cabins, with crew accommodation for three in the forepeak.

Ferretti 1000

Ferretti Yachts' new flagship was constructed for a French owner and hit the water for the first time at the yard's Cattolica-based facility in Italy. The 30.48 metre superyacht was built in carbon fibre, featuring an exterior design by Filippo Salvetti and an interior penned by IdeaeItalia. Salvetti said the Ferretti 1000 was designed with "the future in mind". 

Venera

Van der Valk's third 28.5 metre compact explorer Venera is set to debut in Cannes. The aluminium built superyacht was developed in collaboration with Guido de Groot Design, Diana Yacht Design and Ginton Naval Architects. During sea trials, the yacht hit a maximum speed of 21 knots, with power coming from a pair of 1,650hp MAN V12 diesel engines. 

Motopanfilo

The first hull in Benetti’s 37 metre 1960s-inspired Motopanfilo yacht model is set to debut in Cannes after first hitting the water in July. Featuring a “clean-cut” exterior by Francesco Struglia, the Motopanfilo features an observation deck above the hard top, which is described as an “intimate fourth deck” for star gazing. The “contemporary” interior meanwhile has been penned by Lazzarini Pickering Architetti.

Z72

The fifth unit in Dutch yard Zeelander’s flagship Z72 series will make its European debut at Cannes this September. Sporting triple Volvo IPS 1350 engines for a top speed of 40 knots, the 22 metre yacht was the first in the series to be sold to an Italian owner where the previous four were delivered to the United States. The Z72’s exterior design was penned by Cor D Rover and Zeelander’s in-house team, creating a “timeless exterior design,” according to the yard.

WHY200

Wally's 27 metre superyacht WHY200 is set to appear at Cannes after first being revealed in January 2021. Designed by Wally founder Luca Bassani in collaboration with Ferretti Group's in-house engineering department, the WHY200 features 200 square metres of living space overall, including a 22 square metre upper deck interior and 100 square metre main deck interior. Naval architecture comes courtesy of Laurent Giles NA while the interior is penned by A. Vallicelli & C Studio. 

Panam

Delivered in 2021, Panam is a 40m Fast Jewel superyacht built by Italian yard Baglietto. First sold in 2018, Panam features “sleek and aggressive” styling penned by Francesco Paszkowski with a 340GT interior designed by Margherita Casprini. Accommodation is for a total of 10 guests, including a full-beam master suite on the main deck with a private Hammam. Other features include a beach club that opens on three sides and a semi float-in tender garage.

Aurelia

Cantiere delle Marche’s first Flexplorer superyacht Aurelia is set to appear in Cannes after first hitting the water in September 2020. The 39.4 metre superyacht is built in steel and aluminum to a design by Hydro Tec and features collapsible aft deck bulwarks, which fold out to port and starboard to create an “infinity deck”. Also, on the aft deck, an A-Frame crane enables the deployment of an 8.5m tender weighing up to 3,500kg.

Azimut 38m Trideck

The new flagship of Italian builder Azimut is due to make its debut at the 2021 Cannes Yachting Festival. Described as a “three decks plus one”, the Azimut 38m Trideck features exterior design by Alberto Mancini and interiors by Achille Salvagni. Designed for a “contemporary owner” for ultimate flexibility, the yacht’s 300GT interior can be arranged in various configurations to include a maximum of six guest cabins.

RJ

The first 40 metre RJ 130 explorer yacht from Cantiere delle Marche RJ hit the water for the first time earlier this year. The first model of CdM’s RJ range, the yacht is designed by Francesco Paszkowski Design with naval architecture by Hydro Tec. Described as a “luxury explorer”, RJ features accommodation for 12 guests and an “elegantly austere silhouette”

CeFeA

Launched by Solaris Yachts in 2020, the first 33.77m Solaris 111 sailing yacht named CeFeA attended Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez during its first season. Naval architecture comes courtesy of Soto Acebal, while interior design is by the Monaco based studio MYT. CeFeA is described as a “race machine with the true comforts of a premium superyacht” by the builder.

Mangusta 104 REV

Launched in June 2021, the 31.8m Mangusta 104 REV will make its debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival. The hull is the first model of the yard’s new Maxi Open models and is built from composite materials for a “sporty look and slender lines”. Designed by Igor Lobanov, the yacht features accommodation for 10 guests and can reach top speeds of 35 knots.

Drifter Cube

Nautor’s Swan’s Drifter Cube is the second hull in the Finnish yard's Swan 98 sailing yacht series following the first, BeCool. Designed by veteran Swan designer German Frers, the 30m yacht will be used for both leisurely sailing and racing. Drifter Cube's interior has been penned by Misa Poggi. 

Numarine 37XP

Launched for the first time in August 2021, the first Nuamrine 37XP explorer is set to make its world debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival this September. Designed with Can Yalman, the 37XP features naval architecture by Umberto Tagliavini and interior design penned by Hot Lab. The 344GT interior meanwhile boasts accommodation for a total of 12 guests in six cabins.
