Explore the unknown has always been the ultimate faith for yacht owners and explorers. But with a yacht, you're on the surface of the sea; with a sub, you're entering a whole new level. A private submarine is an ultimate superyacht toy that can take you to the deep sea and offer fantastic views of marine life. Who wouldn't enjoy that?
Let's find out the top 10 coolest personal submarines.
Triton 600/2

Meet Triton's smallest and lightest submersible to date. Weighing just 2,500kg and standing 1.47m tall, the 660/2 packs the power of Triton's pro flagship submersible into a svelte new design which can slot into most superyacht tender garages without a hitch. It seats two people, which makes this a nice size for owners that prefer to pilot their own vehicle. You can dive up to 200 meters, for a maximum of six hours. The sub reaches a top speed of four knots, which is not bad for a tiny submersible. It is also customizable, so you can make it your own.
NEMO Submersible

NEMO is the smallest member of the U-Boat Worx fleet, offering a slick, deep-diving sub in a lightweight 2,500kg package. It has a single lifting point and can easily be placed on a flat surface without the need for a cradle or davit. Onshore, or ship-board, the NEMO is easily deployed. The NEMO submersible can dive to depths of 100 meters with room for two, and at 2.3 meters wide requires less storage space than a pair of Jet Skis. It has been recognized with a Red Dot Award for design excellence, as well as being recognized as "best of the best" in the category 'Mobility and Transportation'.
Project Neptune

A submersible that dives as an Aston Martin drives - Project Neptune is the result of collaboration between submarine specialist Triton and luxury car brand Aston Martin. Able to dive to 500m, Project Neptune offers a bulbous cabin for panoramic views and a sleek, compact multihull silhouette for optimal speed and style under the waves. The interior is quintessentially Aston Martin - a luxurious mix of hand-stitched leather and high-performance carbon fiber, assembled without obstructing the panoramic sightlines that Triton submersibles are famous for.
Seamagine Aurora-6S

The AURORA-6S is a 6-9 Person (1 pilot and 5-8 passengers) submarine that has a maximum depth rating range of 100 m to 1000 m. Created to give guests a completely immersive experience in the watery world below, it features a massive glass bulb for unparalleled views as she dives into the deep. The submarine is equipped with six powerful electric propulsion thrusters allowing superior underwater maneuverability and is also equipped with the latest subsea technology regarding sonars, cameras, lighting and navigation technologies. The Aurora-6S's weight and size can be customized to suit the mothership, as can the color.

With EGO - Compact Semi Submarine, you don't have to swim or snorkel with concerns of being stung by jellyfish. No need to walk on the coral reef on foot, either. This part boat part sub was invented by Korean company Raonhaje. Passengers can observe the marine life from an enclosed unit that submerges directly underwater, while it remains attached to the whole structure. The huge acrylic windows offer clear views of the underwater world from below deck. Powered by an electric motor, it is an affordable and sustainable option. On top of that, it is a fairly silent model. What that means is that it does not scare away the marine life that surrounds it.
Ocean Pearl

The Ocean Pearl is a 2-person mini submarine for luxury yachts. This mini personal submarine opens as a clamshell and allows for easy entry and exit. It has a maximum operating depth of 500 feet (about 150 m) and a mission time of up to six hours. What's cool about the Ocean pearl is the way it behaves underwater. It always remains in the horizontal position, and it doesn’t roll. In the event that the thrusters should stop, the submarine will rise back to the surface.
Killer Whale

At the first glance, this submarine looks like a real-life killer whale. The construction of the vessel is thus as the focal point of this submarine as it allows the vessel to perform maneuver just as a killer whale mammal would.
Priced at US$ 90,000 the vessel comes equipped with cutting edge technological gadgets. It has a place for two and includes an integrated snorkel in the "dorsal fin" which takes care of supplying airflow to the engine when the sub is underwater up to a depth of 5 feet. The sub uses a 225-horsepower Rotax supercharged engine controlled by dual foot pedals that control the thrust.
Seabreacher X

With an aggressive shark style, the Seabreacher X is one of the most advanced submersible watercraft ever built. It has a length of about 5 meters and a beam of 1 meter. It has been equipped with a high-powered engine system so as to provide it with better propulsion while it is underwater. The X Model's smaller control surfaces make it a more agile and responsive vessel, allowing it to jump 90° out of the water. The X model is purpose built for pilots who want to get the most out of their Seabreacher watercraft.
Deepflight Dragon

As the lightest and most compact personal submarine available, DeepFlight Dragon fits in most superyacht garages with no retrofit needed. Dragon is the first DeepFlight submarine to offer hovering capability, allowing complete freedom to cruise alongside big animals, or stop and hover over reefs or shipwrecks. It can dive up to 400 m deep. It is silent and has zero power emissions. Its low electric signature makes the Dragon safe to operate around swimmers, as well as any marine animals you may encounter.
Scubster

Built completely out of lightweight carbon fiber, the Scubster, a single seater yellow submarine measuring 3 meters will reach a top speed of 10kph (6.2mph) speed powered solely on human pedal power. It specifically built for the purpose of marine research and related activities.
