Power Multihull Yacht Asean Lady Has Been Put Up for Sale

Built in steel by the Chinese shipyard Pride Mega Yachts with a design by Ian Mitchell, the 88.15 meter power multihull yacht Asean Lady was delivered in 2004. It has been put up for sale by the Raffles Yacht Group.

Asean Lady is particularly well suited for entertaining in a tropical setting with large interior areas, giving everyone on board plenty of space and privacy in a splendid setting. It offers accommodation for 18 guests in eight spacious cabins, of which the master cabin is an incredible 160 square meters with a private balcony and office.

Characterized by its breadth, Asean Lady It is also unique in its shape, with a design based on a Proa - a bamboo canoe known for its stability and long range and used for centuries by the indigenous peoples of the South Pacific. The distinctive design has solved many typical luxury yacht problems such as space, noise, stability at anchor, stability while sailing and large windows.

It is powered by a single 2,000hp Caterpillar diesel engine with a Counter Rotating Propeller (CRP) Azimuth Drive. She has a top speed of 15 knots and the yacht is also equipped with a 600hp retractable thruster that is capable of propelling her at a speed of 7 knots. Asean Lady can literally 'walk sideways' with both the forward and aft drives making berthing a breeze. Her stability was put to the test in December 2004 when she survived the tsunami while anchored off Phuket.
