Oceanco launches 109m superyacht Y720

Dutch yard Oceanco's hotly-anticipated 109-metre yacht has been launched in the Netherlands. Codenamed Y720, the yacht was constructed at the yard's new Zwijndrecht facilities before heading to Alblasserdam for outfitting in June 2020. 

This comes after the yard revealed Y720 would be the first Oceanco yacht to take advantage of its new construction facilities.

Designed inside and out by Dutch studio Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design, Y720 features extensive glass with the three deckhouses on the main, bridge and upper decks all surrounded by large glass windows. Elsewhere, the exterior design is defined by “classical proportions”, according to the yard.

Although details about the yacht have remained tightly under wraps, she features an impressive foredeck left bare for socialising and a Jacuzzi on the upper aft deck. 

The eco-focused Y720 also sports technologically advanced environmental systems that reportedly exceed current regulations.

Lateral Naval Architects is responsible for the naval architecture and propulsion system. The owner is represented by Wright Maritime Group.

According to the yard, the owner has played an integral role in the design of the yacht. Molly Isaksen Interiors is acting as the owner's design consultant.

Acquired by Oceanco in May 2019, the 28-acre site at Zwijndrecht includes offices and conference rooms, alongside construction, outfitting, paint and sandblasting facilities. The new location is also intended to increase the yard's eco-conscious efforts as well as help develop maintenance and refit works.
