Standout new superyacht launches

Lürssen's 160 metre behemoth Project Blue hit the water for the first time in February 2022 at the yard's Bremen facility. Throughout the construction, details of the displacement yacht were kept as closely guarded secrets but it is understood that the yacht was penned inside and out by Terence Disdale. The 15,320 GT yacht has a beam of 22 metres and includes amenities such as two helicopter landing sites; a larger helideck located at the bow and a smaller one aft. 


Project Amels 242

Standout new superyacht launches

Sporting a sea-blue hull, 74 metre Project Amels 242-07 rolled into the water at the Amels and Damen Yachting yard in the Netherlands in February 2022. Scheduled for delivery in summer 2022, the project was built in steel and aluminium, with construction overseen by Imperial. She was penned by Tim Heywood with interior styling by Winch Design and is the seventh yacht to be launched from the Limited Editions series. With an internal volume of 1,790 GT, the yacht sleeps up to 12 guests and 19 crew with the cabin configuration yet to be revealed.


Juice

Dutch yard Feadship launched the 71 metre Juice in January 2022. Sporting an exterior courtesy of British studio RWD with "soft lines" and "distinctive creases," the yacht was constructed with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure and a composite top deck. Stand out features include an eight-metre pool on the main deck, with a sundeck gym and a cinema located on the lower deck. Accommodations host up to 12 guests in five cabins comprising a master suite, two double cabins and two twin cabins with Pullman berths. 


Nebula

Standout new superyacht launches

Spanish yard Astilleros Armon's 67 metre ShadowCat support yacht Nebula hit the water for the first time at the yard's Burela facilities in December 2021. The all-aluminium catamaran hull was penned inside and out by Kirsten Schwalgien Design, while Incat Crowther oversaw her naval architecture. Powered by twin MTU diesel engines for a top speed of 21 knots, Nebula is kitted out for remote cruising and features a dedicated helicopter deck and hangar. 


Acala

Standout new superyacht launches

Italian yard Cantiere delle Marche's 43 metre custom explorer yacht Acala was launched in January 2022 in Ancona. The 440 GT yacht was commissioned by a repeat customer who has big plans for sailing the globe. Constructed with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, Acala sports an exterior courtesy of Horacio Bozzo Design, with Hydro Tec completing the naval architecture. Twin Caterpillar C32 Acert engines power her to a range of 5,000 nautical miles, while six cabins sleep 12 guests.


Sørvind

Standout new superyacht launches

Joining South African builder Southern Wind's SW105 series as the fifth unit of the fleet, 34.59 metre sailing yacht Sørvind was constructed with a full carbon hull, deck and bulwarks. She was penned by Nauta Design and Farr Yacht Design, with every decision "geared at improving her performance on the seas." Launched at the yard's Cape Town facilities, the yacht is the sistership of Wolfhound and Kiboko Tres and features the same coach roof that allows light to flood her interiors. Accommodation comes for eight guests in four cabins, including an owner's suite on the main deck and three cabins located amidships.
