Rossinavi Just Opened a New Office in Fort Lauderdale to Showcase Its Green Technology

Rossinavi is bringing its green innovations stateside.

The Italian yard has just opened a new office in Florida in which visitors and potential clients will be able to better understand the thinking, research and development behind the new eco-friendly navigation technology, BluE. The Fort Lauderdale outpost will also handle sales and after-sales, of course.

“Green is a vision, an education that has inspired us to research and develop sustainable technologies for the future of navigation,” Rossinavi’s COO Federico Rossi said in a statement.

Rossinavi is planning to launch two hybrids equipped with the BluE technology. The Sea Cat, which is now under construction in Viareggio, will not only be the yard’s first multihull, but it will also be capable of generating its own solar energy. In fact, the 140-footer will be able to switch between different modes to increase efficiency. The cat could cruise 80 percent in full electric mode, for instance, using only 20 percent of diesel-electric support. It can also operate exclusively on electricity for short trips of 80 nautical miles.

As with the Seacat, the Infinity 42 BluE was born from a collaboration with noted Italian superyacht designer Fulvio de Simoni. The monohull is also equipped with the yard’s eco-friendly navigation technology, which is known as BluE, just like the multihull before it.

Crafted entirely from lightweight aluminum, the newcomer sports an innovative eco-displacement hull that reportedly reduces energy consumption even more than a traditional full-displacement hull at cruising speeds of 10 to 11 knots.

“Our efforts are currently focused on a new generation of boats, where sustainability and high performance are the keywords,” Rossi said. “We are proud to bring our vision to the US, a country that we have been targeting for years, with the opening of a new sales office in Fort Lauderdale.”
