Following its launch in early February, the first hybrid model in Baglietto's T52 line has made its premiere in a private ceremony in Portofino. The event was attended by journalists and clients in an event that Baglietto CCO Fabio Ermetto called a "crucial step" in the shipyard's journey towards more sustainable yachting.
Known as hull 10238, the 52-metre model is the first of eight units already sold in one of Baglietto's most successful lines to date. The model has been designed by Francesco Paszkowski Design and is the current flagship of the shipyard's sporty T-Line series.
The first hull is fitted with a hybrid propulsion system that will allow its owner to opt for more efficient cruising modes to minimise consumption and reduce the yacht's environmental impact. When cruising in electrical-diesel mode, the T52 can reach a range of up to 7,600 nautical miles and remain at anchor for up to 10 hours relying on battery power alone.
The sub-500GT yacht was commissioned by a European owner who is an existing client of Baglietto. The new yacht reinterprets classic design elements of Baglietto's traditional steel displacement yachts, with fresh elements such as restyled stern and open beach club that spans two decks and includes a pool with a changeable-depth floor.
The beach club also incorporates a swim platform that folds down, creating a waterside lounge zone. This connection to the outdoors extends throughout the yacht, with a retractable staircase connecting the 24-metre-long sundeck to the foredeck and an upper winter garden dining area encased by glass that opens on three sides.
The yacht's interior is by Francesco Paszkowski Design working in collaboration with Margherita Casprini. The design duo has opted for a "fresh" and "natural" theme, with teak, lacquered surfaces, almond-coloured leather, Botticino marble, burnished metal and satin-finished stainless steel.

The 52-metre model is the first of eight units already sold in one of Baglietto's most successful lines to date.
Under traditional navigation, the T52 can reach a maximum speed of 17 knots and a range of 3,600 nautical miles powered by twin MTU 16V2000M86 engines.
According to BOATPro, there are six T52 models currently under construction at the shipyard, along with two units in the successful DOM 133 series. The most recent unit from the DOM line was launched as Perla Bianca last month.
