New York architecture firm Gill Schmid Design has revealed its 65-metre explorer concept, Synaesthesia. The yacht would be built at Dörries Yachts in Germany and has been designed for an “adventure-seeking owner” who envisions themselves living "the James Bond lifestyle".

Synaesthesia’s hull will be built in steel, while her superstructure is conceived as a monocoque built in light-weight carbon fibre. This added structural integrity will allow for column-free, expansive interior spaces.

Accommodation includes six guest cabins and a full beam owner’s suite with an attached lounge, television screen and island bed. Further accommodation sleeps a crew of 17.

Interior renderings reveal airy, contemporary living spaces, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, glossy surfaces and a proposed white and grey colour scheme. The main deck features a large indoor guest lounge and a 12-seat dining room with an adjacent galley.

Synaesthesia is also characterised by the retractable glazing that runs throughout its interiors. This benefits the pool lounge in particular, transforming it into an indoor-outdoor space.

On deck, a touch-and-go helipad has been designed with a mobile platform that converts the area into a "party space" when not in use. The bridge deck is dedicated to al fresco dining and fitted with a glass floor, allowing guests a direct view into the pool lounge below. An infinity Jacuzzi, sunloungers and dining table provide an additional leisure area on the open sun deck.

Other highlights include drone storage on the main deck and a tender garage capable of stowing a 10-metre limousine tender, a 10-metre RIB and four Jet Skis.

The news follows the reveal of Gill Schmid Design's 73-metre concept Escapade in June, which centres around an enhanced connection with the natural environment.
