Rodriguez Design’s latest superyacht concept is for the new wave of seafarers.

Christened Azua, the 207-footer was designed for “young owners looking for the thrills of a fast boat and the comforts of a superyacht,” according to studio founder Josh Rodriguez. The sailor-turned-designer adds that the next generation of owners appears to favor sleek, stylish, and speedy vessels over traditional displacement yachts with bulky profiles and modest power.

As such, Azua showcases a sharp, streamlined silhouette, with a steel hull, aluminum superstructure, and pointed bow. Powered by twin MTU (16V 4000 M63L) diesel engines, the newcomer can hit 22 knots at full tilt and cruise for 4,000 nautical miles at 12 knots. As Rodriguez puts it, “You could catch a sunset in Saint-Tropez and be back in time for dinner in Monaco.”

With a beam of 35 feet and displacement of 790 GT, Azua offers a generous amount of living space, too. Spread over three decks, the interior sees a pastel palette and light wood paneling contrasted by rose-gold accents and dark furnishings. On the main deck, the open-plan main salon includes a plush lounge with a TV and a dining area with a 12-seat table. Further toward the bow lies an elegant owner’s suite that spans the full width of the beam.

The lower deck is home to two double cabins, two VIPs, and crew accommodation, while the upper deck features an observation lounge with 270-degree views and a second, more secluded salon. The captain’s cabin and wheelhouse can also be found on the upper deck.

The exterior decks are nothing to sneeze at, either. Starting at the stern, the beach club has an expandable swim platform and two folding balconies for sunning or socializing. Inside, the club has a bar at the center, a day head on the port side, and a lounge near the front bulkhead. Heading upstairs, the main deck aft is fitted with another sofa for lounging alfresco. Higher still, the upper deck offers multiple seating areas and a dining table for up to 10 guests. To top it off, the sundeck sports a 10-foot Jacuzzi flanked by sun pads.

By the looks of it, Azua will appeal to seafarers of any age, not just the youngins.
