Royl Huisman is coming full circle. Founded as a builder of fishing boats in 1884, it is today finishing a sportfishing project that is 52m (171ft) long, six decks high, packed with sportfishing gear and a speckless superyacht interior.

Royal Huisman says its Project 406 has left its newbuild facilities for “installation of her upper deck, sun awning hardtop and radar mast.”

The exceptional aluminum motoryacht is “fitted out without compromise for both high-end sportfishing and luxurious living,” Royal Huisman writes in a news release. And, perhaps aware that sportfishing is no stranger to tall stories, it adds a photograph of a massive fishing boat that dwarfs the Royal Huisman yard.

Project 406 is a unique vessel in many respects. Interior and exterior design and naval architecture are by the celebrated Vripack Yacht Design Studio. Her design is highly distinctive. Project 406 features a massively long bow with high bulwarks sweeping through a clear sheer to a low, uncluttered cockpit aft.

The high tower offers outstanding views with a downward angle on the water for specialised fishing. Apart from its practical function, the tower also provides a superb viewing platform for guests, who can follow all the action below.

The boat is a mega-version of the thousands of sportfishers that dot the warm waters of Florida.

Not only is Project 406 the largest of its kind in the world, but also the most spectacularly appointed, meticulously engineered and most impressive true sportfish yacht anywhere in the world.

Project 406 is immaculately and extensively engineered. Royal Huisman says it is viewed as the only shipyard in the world capable of delivering such an individual and bespoke motoryacht. It was built by a shipyard team of 350+ individual experts and highly qualified co-makers.

The testing of most onboard systems and other technical installations is now nearing completion before her final transport, upcoming launch and trials.
