Omikron Yachts Unveils Ambitious OT-80

In the aftermath of the OT-60's triumph at the European Powerboat Awards, Omikron Yachts is steering towards a new horizon with the announcement of their flagship OT-80. The pioneering OT-60 secured the esteemed Long Range Yacht category at the awards, excelling in comfort, efficient drive systems, safety at sea, and low fuel consumption. Riding high on this success, Omikron Yachts, under the shipbuilding brand of Olympic Marine, is all set to embark on a new journey with the 80-foot Eco Cruiser, slated for a 2025 launch.

The announcement unfolded at Boot Düsseldorf, where Omikron Yachts showcased the OT-60 and introduced the world to the evolution of their unique concept, the OT-80.

The OT-60, celebrated for its sustainable and stylish design, has garnered recognition for its adherence to the project's design goals. Inspired by the ethos of Eastern Mediterranean island-hopping, it embodies a seaworthy vessel designed for global exploration. The yacht's ability to traverse 1000 nautical miles at 8 knots, in any sea condition, while consuming a mere 1.25 liters per nautical mile, underscores the unparalleled efficiency of Juan-K's naval engineering. The interiors, styled by Ciarmoli Queda Studio, offer unmatched comfort and luxury with natural materials, neutral colors, and tactile finishes.

Expanding on the voyage-centric concept of the OT-60, the OT-80 aims to navigate the waters of an even more demanding and competitive market. This new model reiterates Omikron Yachts' commitment to comfort, efficiency, and safety on extended cruises, encapsulating the shipyard's vision for easygoing, sustainable seafaring.

The decision to introduce the OT-80 is grounded in the positive reception of the OT-60 and the shipyard's notable achievements. Feedback from the boating community and the success of the OT-60 have played a pivotal role in shaping the concept and design of the OT-80. Design Lorenzo Argento and Naval Architect Juan-K are collaborating with the shipyard once again, aiming to surpass the OT-60 in every dimension.

Between 1969 and the late 90s, the Olympic Yachts shipyard manufactured over 2,000 sailing boats. Starting in 2019, the shipyard underwent a comprehensive renovation, revitalizing its capabilities to design and manufacture contemporary, high-quality boats.
