Dunya Yachts' 47m explorer King Benji delivered

Dunya Yachts' 46.7-metre explorer King Benji has now been delivered to her owner. A nominee in this year’s World Superyacht Awards, she will be available for charter in the Mediterranean with IYC this summer.

King Benji's naval architecture and exterior comes from the drawing board of Gregory C. Marshall, while the yacht's playful, tropical interiors are courtesy of Design Unlimited.

Her charter-friendly build is the subject of BOAT International's latest yacht report.

"King Benji is all about life," said Mark Tucker, creative director at Design Unlimited. "She is joyful and uplifting [and] her extraordinary design stems from the owner's spirit and passion for adventure."

Accommodation is across four guest cabins, each with its own ocean-themed feature wall. The upper deck is dedicated to the owner and features a private saloon and cabin in shades of botanical green, "mimic[king] the biodiversity of the jungle". Reclaimed and textured timbers are featured throughout, alongside bamboo detailing and organic woven fibres.

The design brief emphasised flexibility of space and socialisation to "bring a change of scenery on longer expeditions", including an airy beach club and the sheltered, "moodier" sky deck. The galley, breakfast counter and outdoor Teppanyaki bar were also designed to be interactive to satisfy the owner's love of cooking.

Other highlights include a Jacuzzi with dual temperature zones hidden beneath the bow sunpads, a crow's nest with 360-degree views and a 10-tonne crane for launching and retrieving tenders and toys.

King Benji will make her debut at the MYBA Charter Show in April 2024.

According to BOATPro, King Benji is the shipyard's largest yacht on the water after the 72.5-metre Axioma.
