The Flexplorer 146 Mat represents a significant advancement in the Flexplorer series. While retaining the core concept of the Flexplorer line, Mat introduces notable changes in equipment, layout, and accommodation compared to its predecessor, Maverick, delivered last month. This vessel exemplifies the series' adaptability to meet diverse owner specifications.

Ennio Cecchini, Executive Chairman and Founder of Cantiere delle Marche, highlights the Flexplorer line's versatility: “With the Flexplorer line, we transform semi-custom explorer yachts into fully custom masterpieces. Owners can personalize every aspect, from the number of decks to the yacht’s design, naval architecture, and engineering. This extensive customization defines our semi-custom concept.”

Mat maintains the robust, exploration-ready aesthetic typical of the series but has a sleeker profile due to one less deck. Unlike previous models, it lacks the iconic A-frame crane, opting instead for an "invisible crane" integrated into the sun deck overhang. This crane, initially seen on the RJ series, retracts into its compartment after use, allowing the aft deck to transform into a spacious lounging area with collapsible bulwarks.

Hydro Tec designed Mat’s exterior, naval architecture, and engineering, while Nauta Design crafted the interiors. Mario Pedol, founder of Nauta Design, describes Mat’s interiors as spacious and balanced, featuring large windows that enhance the indoor-outdoor connection. The clean, refined interior architecture uses natural materials and light colors, creating a pleasant living environment.

Mat, with a gross tonnage of 475 GT, offers generous social and private spaces for up to ten guests across three decks and a sun deck. A crew of nine ensures smooth operations and guest comfort. The yacht measures 44.50 meters in length and has a displacement of 445 tons. It is equipped with 65,000-liter fuel tanks powering twin Caterpillar C32 engines, each producing 746 kW. This setup allows for a top speed of 14 knots and a range of over 5,000 nautical miles at 10 knots.

CdM's story begins in 2010. The facilities cover an overall surface of 16˙000 square meters, including 7˙000 sq. m of workshops and 1˙000 sq. m of docks. Since 2015, the shipyard has been the world’s leading builder of explorer yachts. Based in Ancona, Cantiere delle Marche builds yachts from 26m to 43m in length.
