If you thought Uber Black was the fanciest it gets, think again.
The ride-hailing company is expanding its Uber Boat offerings starting this month, including the use of Uber Yacht in the European hot spot of Ibiza. On the Mediterranean island, you’ll be able to book a private Sunseeker cruiser for the day, with room for up to eight people. The eight-hour trip, which costs 1,600 euros ($1,723), comes with a personal skipper, a bottle of Champagne, and local snacks—plus Uber transfers to and from the yacht, of course.
“At Uber we want to give our customers the opportunity to go anywhere, wherever they are traveling,” Anabel Diaz, the company’s vice president of EMEA mobility, said in a statement. “This summer we are adding a series of bucket-list-worthy nautical experiences to the Uber app in some of Europe’s hottest destinations, helping holidaymakers make the most of their trip on the high seas. Whether it’s sailing around Ibiza in your own private yacht or experiencing the Venetian Lagoon by boat, we’re thrilled to add some Uber magic to our customers’ holidays this summer.”
Elsewhere, Uber is giving travelers even more ways to explore the water. As Diaz mentioned, the company is launching “limo boats” in Venice this month. The on-demand vehicles, starting at 120 euros ($129) per trip, fit up to six people and are available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day. In Greece—where Uber Boat first launched in Mykonos last year—the company is furthering its reach, adding Athens, Corfu, and Santorini to the mix.
Uber is even bringing its water transports to more cosmopolitan locales: During the first part of the Summer Olympics, all-electric Uber Cruise boats will take riders on a one-hour tour down the Seine. The free trip will showcase iconic landmarks like Notre Dame, the Louvre, and the Eiffel Tower, which you can enjoy with a glass of Champagne in hand.
The Uber Boat expansion comes as the brand makes a greater push into the European market. Demand for the company’s services was up 55 percent last year in countries such as Spain and Greece. And in Ibiza, more than 800,000 people used Uber’s app over the past year.
You might have some competition for the use of that Uber Yacht, then.
