Apreamare marked a significant milestone on August 3rd, 2024, with the launch of the Maestro 88, the largest vessel ever built by the shipyard. The event, held at a private ceremony, saw the new yacht touch the water for the first time.

The launch was attended by the owner, an Italian enthusiast of the Apreamare brand, who already owns several of the shipyard's vessels. The owner, accompanied by family, requested the presence of all workers and suppliers involved in the project, alongside Apreamare's management. The traditional christening ritual was highlighted by the Italian national anthem, symbolizing the project’s Italian heritage and craftsmanship.

“This is a dream come true, thanks to an owner who truly believes in us. Special thanks to all the collaborators who have supported us in our journey of growth, leading to the creation of the Maestro 88,” said Apreamare CEO Rita Pollio.

Cataldo Aprea, President of Apreamare, added, “To realize the Maestro 88, we involved our entire supply chain from Campania. This launch is a fundamental milestone. I extend my gratitude to all the workers and suppliers who made this project possible.”

The Maestro 88 posed a new challenge for the Sorrentine shipyard and its collaborators, architect Marco Casali and engineer Umberto Tagliavini. The vessel features a semi-planing hull and introduces both stylistic and functional innovations while retaining the design elements of the previous Maestro line.

The yacht measures 27.10 meters in length and 7 meters in width, with a draft of 1.80 meters and a full-load displacement of 90 tons. It is powered by two 1,650 horsepower MAN engines, allowing a top speed of 22 knots and a range of 1,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 10 knots. The first unit features upgraded 2,000 horsepower engines, offering a balance of power and long-range capability.

The Maestro 88’s exterior lines are complemented by bright interiors and spacious living areas, including a large beach club and a sliding glass window on the main deck. The flybridge includes a relaxation area, a galley with a wet-bar, and solar panels. The customizable interiors can accommodate up to four cabins and offer ample entertainment space, aimed at enhancing the onboard experience for long-range cruises.

The history of the shipyard starts in 1849, when Giovanni Aprea started to handbuild rowing and sailing boats used for fishing in Sorrento, basing his craft on the shape and form of the traditional “gozzo sorrentino”. Now the shipyard range includes the Apreamare and Maestro yachts.
