The 31.8-metre high-performance sloop Asahi has joined the market with Bernard Gallay's Nicolas Marchand.
Asahi was built by Trehard in 1998, to a design by Jacques Farroux and has excelled both in racing and as a charter yacht. Her interior is the work of Franck Reynaud.
Asahi is believed to be the only sailing yacht which has four staterooms whose beds convert from eight singles to four kings, each bed of 2.1 metres in length. The forward two cabins can also convert to one large master suite with a centreline king bed and his-and-hers bathrooms. This makes for versatility for family use or charter parties.
Crew quarters comprise a large, queen-bedded captain's cabin plus a further double and twin cabin.
On deck, the social cockpit is free of winches and lines and encourages convivial relaxation, while the helm cockpit aft offers a place for the crew to work easily with access to their quarters below. Wide steps on the reverse transom give immediate dinghy and water access.
Under sail, Asahi has reached at 15 knots and surfed downwind at 23 knots. Meticulously looked after with upgrades galore over the years, the yacht for sale can also cruise quietly under her Cummins diesel, renewed in 2019, at 10 knots with a top speed of 11.5 knots.
Asahi is asking €2,695,000 with VAT paid and lying in Sète, France.
