Cantieri di Pisa has introduced the Saturno 56, the first model in a new series of five yachts that blend the shipyard’s traditional design elements with contemporary features to meet current market demands. The Saturno 56 is part of a range that will include yachts from 38 to 90 meters in length, all characterized by distinctive black and white hull lines, expansive "ribbon" windows, and a classic stern design.
The Saturno 56 features a six-cabin layout, including a refined beach club connected to the main and upper decks via a transverse staircase. The interior design, crafted by the Milan-based studio m2atelier, emphasizes an informal, relaxed lifestyle suited for modern families. The yacht is powered by two 1,600 hp Caterpillar C32 engines, with the shipyard considering a hybrid alternative to address growing demand for environmentally sustainable options.
Antonio Luxardo, Cantieri di Pisa’s chief designer, highlighted the yacht's blend of traditional and modern elements. "This range has a classic layout that reprises Cantieri di Pisa’s traditional stylistic hallmarks but also satisfies demand from contemporary owners for spaces that balance relaxation and sport, while ensuring light-filled interiors with larger glazed surfaces," Luxardo said.
The Saturno 56, measuring 57 meters in length with an 11.20-meter beam, stands out for its stern area, reminiscent of historic models from the shipyard. The beach club, designed as a terrace on the water, features a swimming pool with a transparent bottom that enhances the space with natural light. The yacht also includes a gym on the sun deck, accessible via two side staircases.
The yacht's interiors are designed to maximize natural light and offer panoramic views. The main deck lounge spans 90 square meters, and the design by m2atelier incorporates natural materials, clean lines, and minimalist finishes. The studio describes the Saturno series as a modern reinterpretation of Cantieri di Pisa’s iconic yachts, aiming to create an on-board lifestyle characterized by freedom and openness.
The Saturno 56 is equipped with Cantieri di Pisa’s EHPH (Eco High Power Hull) displacement hull, designed for long-range cruising with reduced fuel consumption. While the current model is powered by traditional engines, the shipyard is exploring hybrid propulsion to align with market trends towards sustainability.
Cantieri di Pisa shipyard was founded in 1945 on the river Arno, the Tuscan shipyard became famous for its planing motoryachts, such as the Akhir and Kitalpha series designed by Pierluigi Spadolini. Since 2021 Enrico Gennasio is the new owner of Cantieri di Pisa.
