Heesen Yachts announces the successful delivery of YN 20457, Santosha, a bespoke superyacht tailored to the distinct tastes and preferences of her new owners. Leveraging years of chartering experience, the owners worked closely with Heesen's expert engineers and craftsmen, ensuring that every aspect of their vision was realized to perfection.
“We are privileged to have had the chance to build this remarkable yacht for such a wonderful family. Both the Heesen and owner's teams dedicated themselves to bringing Santosha to fruition. I'm confident she will set a new benchmark for Heesen yachts, providing unmatched comfort and style for cruising enthusiasts,” stated Niels Vaessen, CEO of Heesen. He also expressed gratitude to MarineMax and Northrop & Johnson for facilitating the client introduction, and thanked MCM for their exemplary coordination throughout the entire endeavor, ensuring an enjoyable process for the clients.
Santosha exemplifies versatility, engineered to offer extraordinary speed, performance, and stability. During her sea trials in the North Sea, she showcased exceptional performance, operating quietly and demonstrating remarkable capabilities across various sea conditions. Captain Bob van Zundert of Heesen expressed his excitement, stating, “The yacht responds beautifully, delivering a seamless and exhilarating experience.”
Equipped with two IMO Tier III-compliant MTU 16V 4000 M65L engines and an aerodynamic hull design, Santosha achieves a remarkable top speed of 22 knots – a significant achievement for a superyacht weighing approximately 510 tonnes at half load.
The collaboration with esteemed owner’s representative Peter Wilson of MCM was crucial to the project's success. Wilson remarked, “We are excited to present this magnificent, fast, all-aluminium motor yacht. She blends outstanding speed and performance with hydrodynamic efficiency. While cruising at lower speeds, she offers an impressive range, and her shallow draft enhances her versatility, making her an adaptable vessel. The owner’s design insight and extensive experience from previous projects played a key role in bringing Santosha to life, and her triumph is undoubtedly tied to their active involvement throughout.”
Santosha also marks a significant advancement in Heesen’s yacht design and engineering. As the first vessel in a new class of 57-meter all-aluminium yachts, she boasts an enclosed volume of approximately 780 GT, paired with a lightweight, ultra-efficient Fast Displacement Hull Form. “Precision in weight calculations was crucial to achieving the Bahama draft,” noted Peter van der Zanden, Head of Heesen’s Engineering Department. “This yacht embodies our dedication to engineering precision and design excellence.”
With the capacity to accommodate 12 guests across six opulent staterooms, Santosha features a 63 sqm owner’s apartment on the main deck. Her striking exterior design, highlighted by a distinctive scooped stern, enhances her impressive presence on the water. Expansive outdoor spaces further enrich the onboard experience, inviting guests to fully embrace life at sea.
