The 30m Evo R9 has a top speed of nearly 60kt
Italian motoryacht builder Evo Yachts has taken a significant step forward in its consistent growth over recent years with the launch of the 30m (98.5ft) Evo R9, taking the brand into the lower end of the superyacht market.
The Evo R9 is described as a “revolutionary product that puts the owner at the core of the design process”. IBI understands that construction of the first hull will start early next year but it is not known if it is sold or when it will have its world premiere.
A highly-customisable 30m aluminium vessel, the Evo R9 aims to set the bar in the superyacht industry and write a new chapter in the history of a brand that continues to evolve. The model is designed by Valerio Rivellini, in collaboration with the yard’s technical office.
It has a majestic superstructure, completely enclosed in glazed surfaces, and various layout options to meet the different needs of all kinds of owners, who can follow the design process every step of the way as they see their dream yacht transformed into reality.
The Evo R9 offers an even greater level of customisation than before with a very high level of performance which includes a top speed approaching 60kt. The new project confirms the yard’s intention of continuing to move forward by innovating and, in some cases, even revolutionising the range.
With this 90ft-plus boat, Evo chooses to measure itself against the Italian and North European leaders of the global superyacht industry. The decision to opt for an aluminium hull and topside and a carbon fibre superstructure allows it to offer increased custom production which reflects the brand’s design philosophy and aim to experiment with new materials to focus on environmental sustainability.
The Evo R9 can comfortably accommodate from six to eight people, plus four crew, offering a high level of privacy and settings with various possible layouts. The propulsion system is another key feature of the R9 with two or three 2,200hp engines driving the yacht to a top speed of between 50kt-58kt and a cruising speed of between 40kt-44kt.
The new Evo Yachts model is designed for an experienced owner who wants a tailor-made boat and enjoys high-end performance without sacrificing the features that have made the brand well known.
First and foremost, transformability, as the Evo R9 will also be fitted with hull sides that open out – using an even more sophisticated system than on its previous boats. The stern transformer, designed to offer the utmost in versatility, results in a highly-innovative superyacht but one that highlights the brand identity.
