Following extensive research and testing, Roam Boats, in partnership with Vanguard, has launched a four-metre rescue tender, the Roam 400 SOLAS.
As regulations in the superyacht industry become more stringent, making optimal use of onboard space while ensuring compliance is increasingly essential, says Roam.
As such, the new boat is specifically designed for man-overboard rescue operations, and is equipped for rapid launch/response. When not being used for rescue, it can be used for daily operational support such as equipment handling and yacht maintenance.
“As part of the Superyacht Tenders and Toys group, no one understands the evolving demands of the superyacht industry better than we do at Roam Boats,” says CEO Josh Richardson. “The Roam 400 SOLAS illustrates this commitment by offering a unique, compact, high-performance tender that meets rigorous safety standards without compromising on style or functionality.”
The new iteration of the Vanguard has been designed for vessels with limited yacht garage space and features a 15-25hp SOLAS outboard engine. It has customisable bench seating, engine colour, and Seadek flooring. All of those can be matched to the mothership. Additionally, there’s the option to add a deck package to include chocks and/or a trolley.
Roam was launched in 2021 as an adventure range for superyacht owner. It started with a series of smaller, 4.5–6m fully inflatable outboard ribs, the Roam inflatable landing craft, a D rib range from 8–10m, and the ‘ultimate toy carrier’, the 24m or 27m Roam Shadow.
