95M superyacht REV OCEAN on the move: The world's largest yacht for charter embarks on sea trials

Following years of additional work and delays, 639.9ft (195m) superyacht charter REV OCEAN causes excitement in the yachting industry as she embarks on her latest set of sea trials.

A groundbreaking expedition yacht charter currently scheduled for delivery in 2026, superyacht REV OCEAN will become the first Vard charter yacht to hit the market, opening up a world of incredible remote destinations like Antarctica. 

Departing from SØVIK, Norway, on 27 January, these are the first sea trials to be undertaken by the superyacht following her 12-meter extension. 

Overcoming challenges and delays

With sea trials expected to be completed on 1 February, the latest tests mark an important milestone in the construction of the incredible motor yacht charter, with all her latest modifications and equipment being rigorously evaluated to ensure industry requirements have been met.

Facing “technical and weight challenges” following her initial sea trials in August 2020, extensive work has been completed on the superyacht - enabling her to conduct the research missions she was initially intended for.

Although her complete listing of toys and gadgets is yet to be disclosed, superyacht rental REV OCEAN will be adequately equipped for exceptional heli-skiing destinations, and is said to feature premium onboard amenities including a gym, a swimming pool, an observation lounge, a cinema, a pair of helipads, an elevator, a submarine garage, and furtheacilities to assist in research missions.

Knocking FLYING FOX off the top spot

Causing quite a stir among the world's largest yachts for charter, superyacht REV OCEAN will dethrone 446.2ft (136m) luxury yacht charter FLYING FOX off the top spot, superseding the Lurssen yacht charter in both length and gross tonnage. 

Upon delivery, REV OCEAN will also be set to occupy the top ranking in the YB100 - the most accurate method for measuring the world's biggest yachts, knocking 511.10ft (156m) superyacht DILBAR and her gross tonnage of 15,917GT off the number one slot. 

Going for a hattrick of record-breaking moves, the Top100 - which is measured by the traditional method of comparing the lengths of yachts, will also witness a change at the top as 592.8ft (180.65m) superyacht AZZAM gets bumped down to second place.
