Italian shipyard Tankoa Yachts has unveiled a new, 52-metre model.
Known as the S520, the design is intended to be a "reinvention" of the ever-popular S501 series, which saw its sixth unit – the 49.9-metre Rilassata – hit the water just last year. Francesco Paszkowski is once again behind the design, with the Italian studio bringing back the "winning proportions" and sporty lines of the S501 in a larger, "gun-metal grey" package.
An increased LOA has resulted in improved outdoor spaces, including a longer and wider sundeck – now complete with infinity pool – an enlarged upper deck skylounge and an extended flybridge.
At the heart of the design is the stern configuration which connects the main deck, aft platform and beach club. The latter is split-level, arranged with sunbathing areas and and filled with light, thanks to two opening side platforms and several portholes (including one facing the infinity pool).
A focus on practicality has also resulted in several new elements, including an integrated tender crane at the bow, a gangway built into the aft platform and a relocation of the staricases to the port side, expanding the upper deck space and allowing it to become a dedicated entertainment area. Meanwhile, the upper deck forward is purely dedicated to toy storage.
The living spaces are the result of a collaboration between Francesco Paszkowski and Margherita Casprini, who recently worked together on the 58-metre, full-custom Diamond Binta. Higher ceilings and larger windows naturally result in brighter interiors than the S501, combined with a "distinctively modern" and grey-toned colour proposal that carries the exterior theme indoors. Accommodation includes a generous owner's suite with its own lounge, study, walk-in wardrobe and vanity area.
"We are so thrilled to showcase our latest S520 model created in collaboration with some of the best minds in the business," said Vincenzo Poerio, CEO of Tankoa. "She is the epitome of Tankoa, bigger and better than ever and anticipating the future needs of owners in her winning combination of aesthetics and functionality."
According to BOATPro, Tankoa Yachts has nine superyacht projects on order or under construction, the largest of which is a 56-metre project commissioned by a "young American couple".
