    Apart from human centric lighting, IoT smart lighting system and “space-as-a-service,” what are other trends of commercial lighting in 2019? Let’s move on to see what Osram suggested.


    Optimum Space Utilization Enabled by Lighting System Data
    How to efficiently manage the space usage is critical to companies. In the past, place planning has been based on calculations using industry-standard formulas, software that addressed some of an organization’s requirements, or even a manual process. This process could take a while and is less flexible.


    Nevertheless, data-driven space optimization applications have been ushered into the commercial real estate industry as a sought-after Smart building IoT application. More companies will leverage a workspace analytics SaaS (Software as a Service) business model to optimize their space. The application will be enabled by data from the networked lighting system.


    Osram has partnered with Rifiniti, who specialized in workplace analytics, to offer smart building IoT solutions to the commercial real estate industry for improving operational efficiencies and occupant comfort.

    Telensa to Provide Smart Street Lighting Infrastructure for UK City

    Telensa, expert in smart street lighting and smart city applications, announced that it has been selected by the council of Sandwell in UK to provide a smart street lighting solution as part of the region’s 2030 Vision Initiative. The Council plans to install nearly 4,000 lights by 2020, with the intention to increase this to over 11,000 by 2022, which will be wirelessly connected and managed using Telensa’s PLANet system. The Council is also converting all their streetlights to LED as part of the upgrade. PLANet will give the Council control over lighting levels, allowing them to remotely tailor for each location, in addition to energy and maintenance cost savings.

    Telensa, the provider of connected street lighting and smart city data applications, announced that it has joined the Qualcomm Smart Cities Accelerator Program to deliver streetlight-based smart city applications,using smartphone AI technology.

    Samsung SDS and Telensa Partner for Smart City Infrastructure and Data Solutions

    Samsung SDS, the digital arm of Samsung, and Telensa, a leader in smart street lighting and smart city data, announced their partnership for smart city projects. The two companies are collaborating on smart street lighting and the Urban Data Project, a cloud platform that creates a trust infrastructure for urban data which enables cities to collect, protect and use their data for the benefit of all citizens. The first collaboration will be in city projects in Korea, with wider deployments following across Asia Pacific and in the United States.

    Samsung Electronics has just completed development of a highly innovative “Smart Sensor” Module (SSM) for use in the widest range of smart lighting applications.

    Telensa Supports Smart Street Lighting System in New Zealand City

    Telensa, the UK-based smart street lighting and smart city solution provider, announced that its smart streetlight system has been selected by Dunedin City Council (DCC) in New Zealand as part of a contract with Broadspectrum to upgrade Dunedin’s streetlighting network.

    Smart Streetlight Projects in Sunshine Coast and Chicago

    British smart city applications provider Telensa has announced that the company was selected by Sunshine Coast Council to install its intelligent street lighting system in the Maroochydore City Center for a 24 month pilot smart city project. Meanwhile, in Chicago, 76,000 LED smart streetlights were installed as part of the city’s four-year modernization program.
