    Vuzix and Plessey Confirm Long-Term Partnership for Micro LED AR Smart Glasses

    Smart glasses and AR technology provider Vuzix and optoelectronic technologies developer Plessey announced an exclusive display device design and long-term supply agreement. With the agreement, the two companies will work together on AR products development and productions combining Micro LED light source from Plessey and smart glasses expertise of Vuzix.

     

    Vuzix has developed a Smart Glasses portfolio including Vuzix Blade, which won the CES 2019 Innovation Award. The glasses are equipped with a smart display, offering a see-through viewing experience via its waveguide optics that enables users to see high-resolution graphics, images and information superimposed over images from the physical or real world.

    Plessey has tied up with Vuzix to develop augmented reality glasses, combining Plessey’s ‘Quanta-Brite’ micro-LED arrays and Vuzix’ expertise and IP in smart glasses and optics.

    Hobo Lighting Series by Studio Aisslinger for Wästberg

    Studio Aisslinger designed a series of lights that were created in conjunction with Stockholm’s Hobo Hotel, which they were also responsible for. Swedish manufacturer Wästberg was on board to work with them on the Hobo Lamp Family that evoked the same look and feel of the hotel’s interior. The result is a collection of lamps that come as either suspension lamps, table, or hook lamps, which can be used alone or in clusters.
