    AIXTRON Delivers MOCVD System to Japan’s Nagoya University for GaN-based Deep UV Optoelectronic Devices

    German semiconductor equipment provider AIXTRON announced its partnership with Nagoya University in Japan. The equipment maker has delivered a Close Coupled Showerhead® (CCS) system to the University’s Institute of Materials and Systems for Sustainability (IMaSS).

    ON Semiconductor Orders Veeco MOCVD System

    Veeco Instruments announced that ON Semiconductor has ordered its Propel High-volume Manufacturing (HVM) Gallium Nitride (GaN) Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD) system. Based on its successful beta evaluation of the Propel HVM tool, ON Semiconductor ordered the production-level Propel system for GaN power electronics manufacturing. As the industry’s first single-wafer cluster platform, the Propel GaN MOCVD system is specifically designed for high-voltage power-management devices used in data centers; automotive, information and communication technology; defense; aerospace and power distribution systems, among other applications.

    Xiamen Changelight Purchases AIXTRON MOCVD Technology to Expands ROY LED Production

    AIXTRON has recently received an order on multiple AIX 2800G4-TM MOCVD cluster tools from Chinese optoelectronic manufacturer Xiamen Changelight Co., Ltd to expand its production capacity for gallium arsenide-based (GaAs) red, orange and yellow (ROY) LEDs.

    AIXTRON Announces Solid Growth in 2018 with Demands for MOCVD Systems for ROY LED and VCSEL

    German equipment manufacturer AIXTRON posted its 2018 financial results. The company reported increased on-year revenue and gross margin due to continued demand for its MOCVD systems for lasers, red-orange-yellow (ROY) LEDs and specialty LEDs production.

    The German semiconductor equipment maker Aixtron has reported its financial results for the second quarter and the first half of 2018 and revealed that its MOCVD systems for laser and red-orange-yellow (ROY) LED applications have created significant contributions to the sales growth.

    Plessy Selects Aixtron’s MOCVD System for GaN-on-Si Development Targeting Micro LED Applications

    Plessey has been speeding up its progress of Micro LED technology development. After announcing the partnership with Jasper Display Corp (JDC) for the backplanes, Plessey has ordered MOCVD equipment from AIXTRON SE to boost its manufacturing capability of GaN-on-Si wafers targeting Micro LED applications.

    Changelight Orders MOCVD System for Mini LED from AIXTRON

    AIXTRON, a German deposition equipment supplier reported that the Chinese chip maker Changelight has ordered AIX 2800G4-TM MOCVD systems to expand its production capacities for arsenide-phosphide-based red, orange and yellow LEDs (ROY LED) and solar cells.

    Two major lawsuits—one is from Veeco against SGL Carbon, a US-based wafer carrier technology supplier, and the other from AMEC against Veeco Shanghai—affected trade activities of the two MOCVD firms, most notably in China, as well as Chinese LED manufacturing behemoths that purchase equipment from AMEC, such as San’an Optoelectronics and HC Semiteks.

    A global market leader of the Faucet industry, Yuhuan Dafeng Environment Egis Equipment, held a product launch event in Hangzhou, China and unveil its innovative product, UVC-Faucet. The UVC-Faucet integrates Klaran™ UVC LEDs into conventional faucet, which enables UV sterilization of water at the final point of water supply system. The product’s UVC LED would turns on simultaneously when people use water, allowing the water to be treated by UV irradiation before pouring. UVC-Faucet has passed the SGS test that it can wipe out E Coli by 99.99 percent under the condition of 1.5 liters to 2.0 liters per minute flowing rate.

    AIXTRON, the Germany-based semiconductor equipment provider, has announced its financial results for the nine months and the third quarter of 2018. The equipment company has reported growing profit with continuous demands for MOCVD systems for the production of power electronics and lasers such as VCSEL or EEL lasers for applications in 3D sensing or optical data transmission as well as red, orange and yellow (ROY) LEDs.
