    UVC LED Self-Cleaning Water Bottle

    The applications of water disinfection and purification are expanding and becomes a driving force of the UVC LED market. One of the growing applications is UV-C embedded water bottle.

     

    LEDinside reported in August one model of the UV-C LED integrated bottle offered by an on-line design shop NOERDEN. Soon after that, we found more and more similar products launched in the past two months.

    In most of the bottles, a UV-C LED module with Li-Polymer battery is equipped with the bottle cap and can be activated to water disinfection by tapping the cap. The caps are mostly water proof and with USB for charging.

    Germany’s Fraunhofer Institute Develops Mobile Device Disinfecting Solution with UVC LEDs

    Worldwide technology builders are accelerating UVC LED developments for disinfecting applications aiming to prevent the spread of coronavirus.     UV Power Researches For Replacing Conventional UV Light Sources with High-Power UV LEDs

    Since February 2017, a total of five research institutes and companies have been working on “UV Power”, a collaborative project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The partners have made it their goal to provide high-power UV LEDs to cover a wide variety of applications. These LEDs will eventually replace conventional UV light sources, which often contain toxic mercury, in areas such as production, disinfection, the environment, life sciences and medicine.     Hobo Lighting Series by Studio Aisslinger for Wästberg

    Studio Aisslinger designed a series of lights that were created in conjunction with Stockholm’s Hobo Hotel, which they were also responsible for. Swedish manufacturer Wästberg was on board to work with them on the Hobo Lamp Family that evoked the same look and feel of the hotel’s interior. The result is a collection of lamps that come as either suspension lamps, table, or hook lamps, which can be used alone or in clusters.
