    LiDAR sensors and sensing solutions developer Quanergy Systems reported that it was selected as a LiDAR partner for China’s Geely Automotive Group (Geely). Geely and Quanergy will have a deep collaboration in developing and commercializing solutions for the broad deployment of smart city and autonomous vehicle systems.

    At CES 2019 in Las Vegas (January 8-11, 2019), EnOcean, world leader in energy harvesting wireless technology, will be launching a new ceiling-mounted solar-powered occupancy sensor (PIR) for Bluetooth lighting control systems communicating via Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE). It will be the first self-powered Bluetooth® occupancy sensor on the market integrating EnOcean’s field-proven energy harvesting technology and offering best customer experience by being maintenance-free, freely positionable, highly flexible and easy to install. The new sensor, in a small and functional housing design, will add to EnOcean’s Easyfit portfolio of battery-free Bluetooth® switches and perfectly support the company’s strategy to easily provide precious data for the digitalization of buildings using LED lighting systems as data backbone for intelligent control.     Ams Partners Ibeo and ZF to Deliver LiDAR Technology for Autonomous Driving

    Austria-based sensor developer ams announces that it has signed an agreement to team with Ibeo Automotive Systems, the German specialist for automotive LiDAR sensor technology, and ZF Friedrichshafen, automotive technology developer, to advance LiDAR technology for use in autonomous driving and other applications. The three companies will partner on joint R&D efforts to ensure that this exciting technology can be quickly and safely adopted by 2021.

    Telensa to Provide Smart Street Lighting Infrastructure for UK City

    Telensa, expert in smart street lighting and smart city applications, announced that it has been selected by the council of Sandwell in UK to provide a smart street lighting solution as part of the region’s 2030 Vision Initiative. The Council plans to install nearly 4,000 lights by 2020, with the intention to increase this to over 11,000 by 2022, which will be wirelessly connected and managed using Telensa’s PLANet system. The Council is also converting all their streetlights to LED as part of the upgrade. PLANet will give the Council control over lighting levels, allowing them to remotely tailor for each location, in addition to energy and maintenance cost savings.
