Compared with the traditional twin-screw extruder, the material with the same length-to-diameter ratio stays in the machine 1.5 times that of the twin screw, and the mixing and plasticizing effect is twice that of the twin screw. At the same time, because of the three screws, two of them are in the same direction and the middle one is in the opposite direction. When processing materials, it is equivalent to two pairs of opposite direction twin screws working at the same time.
When processing materials, they have the characteristics of plasticization and mixing in the same direction and good dispersion. And it has the advantages of low shear heat of the counter-rotating twin screw and good maintenance of the physical properties of the material. Compared with the single screw twin screw, its energy saving effect is quite significant, usually 30%-50% energy saving than the general extruder.
