The collaborative platform announced the acquisition of Tilt, a crowdfunding application, online financing of identified projects, paid in cash and shares, associating the start-up staff with its development.
Founded in 2012 by James Beshara, Tilt is a peer-to-peer fund-raising start-up that allows us to create a jackpot for a project. There are many examples like the Jamaican bobsleigh team funding at the Winter Olympics or even the cousin Betty’s birthday cake. With this acquisition, a team of experts in community payment solution is joining AirBnB that complements its ambition to develop its activities around the apartment’s rental, after the acquisition of Resy (catering) and the launch of Trip (recreational activities).
Paid largely in AirBnB shares, Tilt founder James Bashera and his team of developers will join the AirBnB headquarters in San Francisco to participate in new developments in payment solutions.
