The expenditure of Chinese business travelers is expected to reach USD 345 billion in 2017, an 8.4% increase year on year, according to major business travel management firm HRS.

The total expenditure will surpass that of United States by 18% to make China remain world's biggest and fastest growing corporate travel market.

The growth rate is partly stimulated by the increasing number of startup enterprises nationwide in the wake of the "mass entrepreneurship and innovation" national strategy.

Shanghai, a pioneering city for the mass entrepreneurship policy, remains China's biggest business travel market, followed by Beijing and Guangzhou, according to the German hotel-booking giant.

HRS launched a new brand image in Shanghai along with a batch of new services for corporations, including hotel price negotiation, meeting arrangement and cost analysis, said Kimi Jiang, vice president of HRS Asia Pacific.
