The Mille Feuille Berry Compote is an artistic teatime treat at Xroads Xpress in Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
TEATIME treats are to be looked forward to especially when cakes and pastries are served as they take longer to make.
This July, guests at Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur can try Mille Feuille Berry Compote and freshly made Cinnamon Rolls at Xroads Xpress.
Mille feuille, the classic French pastry that is airy, crispy, flaky and decadent, is made up of three layers of puff pastry and each layer is filled with vanilla custard filling.
The mille feuille is served with berry compote and a scoop of Cold Stone ice cream.
Guests can pick their favourite flavours from the special ice cream display.
Then there is the spice-filled cinnamon rolls which are packed with cinnamon brown sugar filling and glazed with vanilla cream cheese.
The mille feuille is priced at RM18 nett per set and the cinnamon roll is RM6 nett per order.
The teatime treats are available on weekdays from 2.30pm to 5.30pm.
Meanwhile at Xin Cuisine, Braised Pork Trotter is the speciality of the house this month.
Xin Cuisine sous chef Wong Pak Seng is presenting his own version of this flavourful and comforting dish that is popular among diners.
For this recipe, Wong has included soy sauce, sugar, oyster sauce, red fermented rice, star anise and cinnamon.
The aromas of various ingredients and meat are perfectly integrated after one-hour of braising.
Broccoli and mushrooms in the dish add colour and taste.
This special dish is priced at RM60nett per portion and is available for lunch and dinner.
