Scribner’s Catskill Lodge made its debut in New York’s mountains last fall. Calling itself a new interpretation of a Catskills classic, the revitalized, 38-room mountain lodge is open year-round.
Originally built in the 1960s, the design is nostalgic and the culinary offerings are local. The 20-acre property’s transformation was managed by New York-based design group?Studio Tack.
Co-owner Glennon Travis says the resort “has a distinct, fresh personality that is simultaneously reflective of the region’s illustrious past.”

Guests enter through the lodge’s modernist exterior into a two-story lobby, framed by skylights. The 38 accommodations have 12 room configurations, including two suites on the top floor with private balconies. The all-white rooms appear clean and modern while incorporating details of the past. Dark wood floors are layered with vintage, patterned rugs; built-in custom seating offers gathering spaces in each room.
In keeping with the original architecture, several rooms feature high-peaked ceilings and a few offer lofted gathering and sleeping spaces. Terracotta shower tiles line each guestroom bathroom. The rooms feature locally crafted furniture and artwork, and fireplaces in some rooms.
The?on-property restaurant?presents 270-degree views of the Catskill Mountains and serves Alpine cuisine with strong Tyrolean influences. All ingredients are sourced within the Hudson Valley. The interior is surrounded by wood finishes; outside is a communal firepit and wrapped patio.
