According to a report by the Philippine media ABS-CBN, Georg Platzer, IKEA's Southeast Asian market development director, said in an interview recently that IKEA stores will likely sell beaded products and bamboo home furnishing products made in the Philippines in the future.

He pointed out that Filipinos are good at beading and their craftsmanship can be well integrated with IKEA's home textile product line. In addition, the bamboo kitchen household products produced in the Philippines are also excellent.

In addition to the Philippines, Platzer also hopes to cooperate with craftsmen in Indonesia and Thailand in the future to broaden IKEA's home textile and ceramic product line.

It is reported that IKEA has previously established a cooperative relationship with Rags2Riches, a local textile company in the Philippines, which specializes in the production of customized textile crafts. Platzer hopes that this cooperation will be an opportunity for IKEA to cooperate with more artisans in the future to export handicraft products to regions outside the Philippines.
