75% Control: Stools Made with Molded Foam
    June 30,2014

Taking a new approach to upholstering furniture, designer Dafi Reis Doron created 75% Control, stools with tactile, fabric-like look and feel. But look closer, that’s not fabric. It’s polyurethane foam, a traditional cushion material, that is poured into the cracks of the stool’s wooden form, which then naturally expands creating a cushiony seat.

As the foam is poured in and expands, it sticks to the structure so it stays put in the cracks. Each piece is different as it all depends on how the foam expands and grows, but the foam protrudes out of the spaces making a cool graphic pattern.
