Fred Rigby – British designer and founder of London-based independent interior and furniture design studio — Fred Rigby Studio – has launched his debut capsule of furniture: The Everyday Collection.
Bringing fine furniture craftsmanship into everyday living spaces, the collection is designed to provide function, comfort and playfulness to our homes. Simple and versatile shapes are expressed through a pure palette of oak, wool and steel which invite touch and bring natural materiality.
The modular quality of the collection appeals to the demands of everyday living, as customers are able to pair and configure to suit the changing contexts and spaces of family life.
Inspired by the undulating landscapes of Dorset – where Rigby grew up – the UK-made collection carries nature indoors through organic forms and natural materials: tables inspired by rippling raindrops, soft seating in rich earth-like tones; tide tables with a sense of softness, each piece united by the natural symbolism of the great outdoors.
Echoes of the natural world extend beyond craftsmanship and form, to the environmental considerations Rigby has made within the collection and across the studio’s wider portfolio. Brought to life through thoughtful production processes, and in concert with the best local suppliers and manufacturers with an unrivalled commitment to their craft – each piece is custom made using locally sourced materials that make for long-lasting furniture with timeless character.
The UK-made Collection will be available through the studio’s own online store and select retailers, sitting alongside the studio’s bespoke sculptural furnishings and interior projects. Each piece is made to order in the UK and then finished and assembled in the studio itself – from the Cove series of modular, soft seating to the solid oak Tide Dining Tables and accompanying Trail Chairs, to the playful and multifunctional Raindrop Side Tables.
