Rockler Woodworking and Hardware has introduced a series of Contour Sanding Grips that feature unique shapes for sanding convex and concave shapes, edging and other rounded detail work.

The Contour Sanding Grips feature convex and concave profiles on opposite ends, enabling even sanding of virtually any rounded shape, including bead molding, fluted columns, coves, roundovers, spindle profiles, dowels and many others without blunting details or changing the shape. The grips are made of a rubbery material that allows the user to easily wrap sandpaper around the profile and pinch it against the body so it won’t slip while in use.

“Achieving even sanding on rounded shapes and detail work can be a real pain, and can even ruin the project,” said Steve Krohmer, Rockler’s vice president of merchandising and proprietary. “These Contour Sanding Grips not only provide the right shape for the task, but the sandpaper doesn’t slip off of the rubbery surface. It’s a very simple, very effective solution.”

Each Contour Sanding Grip is made from a flexible rubber that adapts to minor variations in the diameter of the workpiece. The convex and concave ends are connected by a narrow flexible section that provides a solid grip and can also be used for sanding. Each set includes a total of six grips with the following inside/ outside diameters: 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″, 5/8″, 3/4″ and 7/8″.
The Contour Sanding Grips (54412)
are priced at $14.99 per set and can be purchased at Rockler.com or at Rockler Woodworking and Hardware stores nationwide, as well as through the Rockler catalog. For store locations or a free
