Recently, the parent company of MUJI released its 2019 annual financial report. The report shows that MUJI plans annual sales of about 28.6 billion yuan, an increase of 7.1% year-on-year; net profit is about 1.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 31.3%. Regarding the reasons for the decline in profits, MUJI explained that despite the good sales trend of household goods in Japan and overseas, profits have declined due to the extensive use of promotional methods and the opening of new stores. At present, MUJI has gradually launched online sales businesses such as Amazon and Rakuten Market due to the epidemic situation to make up for the loss of offline stores.
