美国东部各地区广泛分布。

一般介绍：

黄杨木的白木质为奶白色,可能会有条纹,心材为淡黄棕色至橄榄绿色。心材的绿色见光後将变暗并转变为褐色。黄杨木纹理密度中等,直木纹。黄杨木白木质层的大小及其某些物理特性将随产地而变化。这种木材具有许多理想的特性,适合用於多种多样的重要用途。黄杨木形状像欧洲杨木（European apoplar）,因此亦称为（美国）黄杨。

物理特性：

黄杨木密度适中,抗弯强度、抗震强度、刚性及抗压缩强度均低,抗蒸汽弯曲能力中等。

加工性能：

黄杨木是一种通用木材,容易进行机械加工、刨平、车削、胶粘及钻孔加工。黄杨木乾燥容易,性能变化微小,上钉子时不易开裂。黄杨木保持漆油、瓷漆及染色剂的能力极为良好。

耐用性：

黄杨木无抗腐蚀能力,心材具中等的抗防腐处理剂渗透能力,白木质则可渗透防腐剂。

供应情况：

美国： 供应极为广泛充足。

主要用途：

轻质结构物、家具、室内细木工制品、厨柜、门、镶板、模制品、边端胶接镶板、胶合板（美国）、车制品及雕刻品。
