Bristol-based motorhome manufacturer, Bailey, will reveal its all-new Advance range of entry-level coachbuilt motorhomes at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show, which takes place at Birmingham’s NEC on February 20 to 25
The range of six coachbuilt models, all of which sit on the Ultralow Al-Ko chassis coupled to a 130bhp Euro VI Peugeot Boxer, have such a high level of standard specification that Bailey has reduced the options list to just one item – bespoke bedding sets to co-ordinate with the soft furnishings.
The six models, which are all on a 3.5-tonne chassis, range from the smallest two-berth Advance 66-2, which has a front lounge with twin facing sofas (that convert into two single beds or a large double bed) and washroom across the rear, to the four-berth Advance 76-4, which has a French bed in front of an across-the-rear washroom. Upfront is a half-dinette and side-facing sofa that becomes a second double bed at night. The 76-2 is a two-berth version of the same layout that swaps the front half-dinette for a side-facing sofa.
There is also the four-berth 74-4, which has a rear transverse island bed and again a front half-dinette and side-facing sofa up front that makes into a double bed at night, and the two-berth 74-2, which is the same layout but with the half-dinette swapped for another side-facing sofa.
Finally, there is the six-berth 70-6, which has a rear lounge with twin-facing side sofas that convert in a double bed and a front dinette with forward-facing and rear-facing bench travel seats. These convert into a lower double bed at night with a further longitudinal drop-down double bed above.
Prices for the new Advance motorhomes are
70-6 - £47,500
76-4 - £47,500
74-4 - £47,000
76-2 - £46,500
74-2 - £46,000
66-2 - £45,500
The kitchens all come with a Dometic 95-litre fridge with detachable freezer compartment, a Thetford Triplex oven and grill with three-burner hob, a 800W microwave oven, a stainless-steel kitchen sink with mixer tap, washing up bowl, drainer and chopping board and new 'Basalt stone' worktop laminate. Some kitchens also come with a drop-down worktop extension.
Power comes via a standard 80A/hr leisure battery that feeds up to eight USB charging points and, with hook-up, there are up to four 230V sockets.
In the washroom there is a new Thetford C-260 cassette loo with integrated water tank and a new 'Granite' stone-finish fully lined shower cubicle with concertina door (66-2, 76-2, 76-4) or curtain (74-2, 74-4, 70-6).
In the cab there is air-con, twin airbags, twin upholstered captain's seats with armrests, DAB radio, windscreen and side window blinds and a variety of driving safety systems including ESP and ABS.
The exterior is completely new and sports Bailey's new graphics, features new rear light clusters and side skirts, as well as a new rear bumper, double-glazed cab skylight and double-glazed Polyplastic opening windows throughout.
